What is the difference between this proposal and dog fighting (which is illegal)?.
Please do not push this through, it was to be phased out for a reason!
This is animal cruelty and completely inhumane to wildlife. Dogs can be trained without bringing other animals into it. Society begs you not to allow this.
This is inhumane. Wildlife should not be used for hunting purposes. Neither should dogs be compelled to do this and their behaviour modified in this manner. We should be respectful to other species and treat them with dignity and not play God.
This is horrifically cruel. For a province that has almost as many dogs as people, this will OUTRAGE everyone. As a veterinarian, this feel criminal. Please stop this
This is a completely barbaric practice that has little merit for actual hunters and dog training. Keeping wild animals in pens so they are trapped before being captured by a predator (dogs) is exceptionally inhumane.

The proposal to issue new licenses and allow for the transfer of licenses of train and trial areas is welcome in my opinion. Ontario has well thought out regulations for the current areas in existence.
My concern is that the proposal only allows for a "one time application period".

This is a deplorable idea. Anyone wanting to train a hunting dog should know what they're doing well enough to do it without the benefit of captive wildlife. If they don't have that knowledge, they don't need to have a hunting dog.

We as people must better protect our wildlife. The use of Dogs to Hunt Wildlife is Barbaric and inhuman.
The teaching of Canines to hunt other canines is a sin against Nature. We say No to Train and Trials Areas.
This proposal intends to undo decades of progress winding down these facilities. There’s a reason steps were taken to limit these licenses. The entire premise of these facilities is unnecessary animal cruelty and torture, and they should therefore continue to be wound down.
