Building over the green belt is an awful idea. With the environment in the shape it currently is. Losing any amount of green space in an urban area is hard on the ecosystem
Hello, I may be young but even I know that this a terrible plan. We already have enough space for everyone in Canada with the spaces already built up. Just continue building them up, we don’t need sprawl. All that does is add more taxes needed to fund next years count.

The original intent of the green space is that it would be protected as such for now and future generations. The provincial and municipal governments have not made significant attempts to create policy and regulations to re zone existing residential development to include greater density.

It is essential that our Greebelt is protected and that we look at alternatives. Doug Ford promised to leave it alone and now he is proving that he is a complete liar and doesn’t care about integrity, honesty or the people of Ontario.

During the election, it was brought forth the plan to build on the Greenbelt. This was greatly opposed to by the people. As such, it was removed from the platform and we were promised this would not happen. And yet, here we are. This is a very bad idea and I do not support it at all.

The greenbelt needs to stay intact. Allowing any part of it to be "repurposed" or blatantly destroyed will only open up a standard that more of it can be. This is a gateway to both ecoterrorism by way of deforestation, pollution, habitat destruction, and so much more.

I have a concern with using protected lands for development. These are important areas and we must protect them and our environment. I against using even the smallest parts of the greenbelt for development.
No. Canada is a vast country. There’s no reason you need to take protected land. Toronto is not the only city in Canada or even Ontario that matters. Develop other cities to be great so ppl want to live near somewhere other than Toronto.
The green belt should be protected indefinitely from development as the world builds and builds we need these natural resources like the green belt to keep the world in balance
I do not want this swap to happen. The solutions to housing need to maintain the quality of life and ABS the quality of the air near the high density areas.
There are ate other housing solutions that do not harm the Greenbelt.
I am completely opposed to this proposal. The greenbelt needs to continue to be protected and turning it into residential development land will not be the solution to the housing crisis unless there are also big changes to zoning by-laws that allow for high-density housing to be built.

We must not allow our green spaces to be sacrificed for monetary gain. We need to start taking tangible actions to address the climate crisis, and it starts by preserving our nature. I DO NOT support the amendment to the Greenbelt Plan.
Our green belt is there for a reason. Blind adherence to economic growth in the face of environmental constraints is the height of hubris. We have a systems that requires a house in order to have any financial stability or to retire peacefully.

I think the developers involved in this project should be investigated and the ties to Doug Ford. Who is going to benefit from this project? Will these be at-least affordable housing, multi unit housing?

Do not build on protected Greenlands. We need to protect these spaces. The environmental impact will be insurmountable. Please focus on densifying existing areas. Do not do this to us, young people and screw up the future of the planet even more than it already has been.
Destroying environmentally protected land to build “affordable housing” is ridiculous. What was the point of the Greenbelt? To call it protected for later use? I know the government I’m not voting for next election.
I think opening up the Greenbelt for housing development will have long term negative consequence on combatting climate change and therefore this proposal should be rejected.
