I think this plan to develop the green belt is a terrible idea. We know this is to enrich developers with ties to ford, please stop for the future of the province.
Developing these areas of the greenbelt will be environmentally disastrous. There is a reason they are protected and there is a reason the leader of this government promised not to develop these areas.
With food prices soaring and distribution levels diminished, why would we destroy agriculture land? You build homes there it only benefits those with money to get more money. The Government is continuously trying to remove all power and say from the citizens, the people who live and work here.

This is a criminal act. Not to mention something Doug Ford said he would never do. Stop Doug Ford and stop this proposal from going through. We don’t need a Greenbelt filled with mansions. This proposal is disgusting and disconnected from reality.

We're in a climate crisis, we cannot afford build over conservation areas. This proposal does not help with affordability and at the same time makes significant damage to our environment. Homes belong in towns and cities, not on top of farms, forests and wetlands.
There are plenty of ways to build housing on our existing land instead of building onto our greenbelt; urban sprawl is not the solution to our housing problem.
It is hard to believe that knowing everything we know about the importance environment we're still discussing tearing up natural lands as well as the farm lands that feed our people.

This is a terrible proposition, destroying the green belt, protected land in which ecosystems thrive, instead of building on protected green land maybe help the current housing crisis by instead working on making housing more affordable and wages better so the cost of living is reasonable
Building on the Green Belt is an incredibly short sighted solution to a very large problem.for my children, their children and Canada's children please do not ruin and destroy what little we have left.
What considerations are we giving for food security and other collateral effects of developing the Greenbelt? Why has the province reneged on its promise to not develop the Greenbelt?

While I do agree that more housing is necessary, not only now, but also in the future as demand will keep increasing, it does not solve the problems of today and tomorrow.

I immigrated to Canada for a reason. This country respects the environment and cares about the environment a lot more than where I came from. Now taking away the green belt for development is demotivating me to stay in Canada do vote for PCs again. Appreciate if you re consider this decision.
I am appalled by the grift of this government! Doug is selling out greenbelt land for development, fulfilling the promise he made to them a few years ago. This has nothing to do with the public good, or even housing development.

Opening up the greenbelt for development is short sighted and reckless. Please examine densities of existing lands before selling off lands to profit developers and the current government. Once it’s gone it’s done forever
I will never vote for the PCs if they push this through. Ford campaigned on promising not to touch the greenbelt. This is completely undemocratic - broken campaign promise AND telling municipalities what they have to do despite their electorate being against it.
WE DONT NEED MANSIONS BUILT ON THE GREEN BELT. DON’T TOUCH THE GREEN BELT. LISTEN TO ONTARIAN’S LIKE YOU SAID YOU WOULD FORD! It’s off limits for a reason.
- A very concerned Ontarian
Development in the greenbelt doesn’t benefit the people of the province in any way. This will just benefit a handful of people financially. The majority of people in Ontario don’t want this, so don’t do it. Also, Doug Ford is a liar
