The intent of the Endangered Species Act is not to have its regulations repealed or amended simply when it becomes expedient to do so for business reasons. It is well past time for government to respect the spirit of this law over the mere letter of it.

I am strictly opposed to exempting the forest industry from the endangered species act. Caribou are still in the food chain of indigenous people and need to be protected. If we let the forest industry ravage their ecosystem we are putting the indigenous people's food source at risk.
