This is a very positive initiative that provides for the protection of species at risk and a sustainable forestry sector. The CFSA already provides landscape, stand, and site-level direction for managing, conserving, and protecting species at risk. Read more

This proposal is nonsense, purely designed to ease resource extraction with less regulatory hurdles. Get serious about strengthening the existing species at risk protection and put conservation ahead of commercial interests. Mike Fogt

I would hope this would not be the thin edge of the wedge for animals or forests needing protection under good forest and environmental management. I am a bit concerned about the idea of reviving the spring bear hunt. Is it only for monetary gain or is there a better rational for it?
