I am very opposed to the proposal of a permanent bear hunting policy in the spring. I have great difficulty in understanding how pleasure can be derived from killing such magnificent wild creatures for no good reason at any time of the year. Read more

I do not support this proposal! When I worked for MNR I remember the sows being shot with cubs. Most of the hunters were American sportsman at the time who paid to hunt. Many of them wanted their moneys worth and didn't watch for lactating sows.

As a lifelong Ontarian, I disagree with any killing of perfectly healthy wildlife whether is is black bear, coyote, moose or deer. Native species, such as black bears, are important in the natural ecosystem of our province and country. Read more

No we don’t need this. Find other activities other than killing these majestic creatures. You find them a nuisance? We share the land with them. We do not have the right to kill any human beings as we don’t have the right to kill any animals. Read more

I am completely against this, but if it's being put through it should involve the first nations all the way as well as environmentalist and conservationist. Looking at this from an economical point of view is foolish..there is more to this world than just money.

THIS IS SICK. How can you even propose this? Even respectful hunter have the common sense to not kill during spring when there are pups. If this proposal goes through many young bears will die. Do you really want that? DO NOT put this through. It's just plain slaughter, not hunting.

Very disappointed to see a spring hunt being considered again. The potential loss of females at a time when they are raising young is too high. I dare say that there will be a significant number of females killed. Hunters are not a highly trained group. Very disappointing. Reconsider this please

ABSOLUTELY NOT. THIS IS ANIMAL CRUELTY. THEY HAVE LIVES TOO. THEY MATTER. YOURE BEING SO INCREDIBLY SELFISH. WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF YOUR LIFE WAS INDISPENSABLE. THE WORLD IS FALLING APART, GLOBAL WARMING IS KILLING US AND YOU STILL CANNOT UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF PRESERVING OUR WILDLIFE. Read more
