Please stop this from moving forward. There is no need for a spring bear hunt , or any bear hunt for that matter. Hunters will shoot sows and young bears will be without their mother to teach them how to survive. This cannot move forward.

Living in WMU 59, I have noticed an increase in spring bear sightings over the last few years. Fall numbers have also increased. The spring hunt has helped to somewhat control the bear population and has also reduced the impact on rural crops by resident bears. Read more

We shouldn't be hunting bears (or any other alpha predator) in an attempt to label them as the reason why prey (moose, deer etc) populations are seen as down. There is so much of our own illegal poaching of large game prey animals happening to be partially the problem. Read more

I support the position of Animal Justice. THIS IS A VOTING ISSUE FOR MY FAMILY! Hunters struggle to distinguish between male and female bears even at close range, adding that challenge all but ensures the issue that prompted the cancellation in the first place is bound to surface again. Read more

I support most of this proposal. I think l should still be able to invite my brother to visit and hunt on my property to help keep the black bear population managed to acceptable levels. I live in the north-west where there are lots of bears.Thanks.

Continuing the spring bear hunt is good conservation. The ability to study the population health along with managed hunting seasons will ensure the species will remain healthy. Hunter's are overwhelmingly ethical in their harvests, and provide important information to the biologists.

Why is the ministry so quick to leave so many orphaned cubs and injured females at such an important time in their life. You offer fines and jail time but that will not stop humans from hunting them. Your articles are confusing. Read more

All of the information in this video make common sense. There is a war on wild life invented post WWll. Fever and disdain of Wolves, Coyote, Bears, Snakes, Raccoon, Possum, Bats, Owls, Insects, and anything wild I may have not mentioned. The biggest threat to our world and our planet are people.
