I think this is a terrible idea. I love the fact that we have protected green space in the area in which I live. I think it is completely unnecessary to have development on this land when other land could be repurposed and used for housing and other development.

This doesn’t make practical sense. It disregards the values of many Canadians and the crucial importance of the Greenbelt. People don’t want to live further from Toronto. A highway solves nothing except taking away from our delicate ecosystem.

I think this is a terrible plan. Cutting into the greenbelt will only cause more issues contributing to wildlife degradation. Suggest focusing on infilling current cities for low income housing. Fund municipalities to build self sustainable senior housing. Read more

The location of the proposed housing should be reconsidered because of its environmental impact, in addition to the proposed housing units need to be affordable, in high density, and for people of lower income rather than the complete opposite.

I absolutely DO NOT agree with this! Doug Ford promised he wouldn't touch this piece of land and this land needs to be protected for it's endangered wildlife not to be used for more corporate profits! This is heinous and you should all be ashamed of yourselves for even trying!!

Destroying the green belt in any way, shape, or form is obsoletely disgusting and cannot be done. The harm and disruption that would be done if this were to take place would have devastating effects to wildlife, the environment, our water and communities of people. Read more

I understand that there is a housing crisis. But somethings should be left untouched. Why am I paying a carbon tax to one government only to have the other destroy over 7 thousand acres of green space? This is not okay.

I just wanted to comment that I think this is a bad idea. This makes Doug Ford look like he is going together with his buddies that are developers to make more money off of this. Ontarians are not stupid people. We see what is happening in the government right now. Read more

The green belt is vital to The environmental future of Ontario. Using it For housing developments will lead to Floods and accelerate climate change. I do not support these changes. Developers should not have more rights than Ontarions. This Read more

What on earth are you thinking? Ontario has an incredible amount of land, but a comparatively small amount of it is designated as protected land. While the residents of the GTA have my sympathy for the conditions they've crammed themselves into, there are other places to live! Read more

The green belt is a protected area for a reason. There is no need to build houses in the Greenbelt when we live in a massive province with tons of space that isn’t on protected conservation land. Ontario used to be known for its natural beauty, but now Doug Ford is making a mockery of that. Read more
