I just found out about this proposal today. From a provincial stand point the province should be setting policy and letting planners of local municipalities plan. The adding of two new suites on a property does not help to plan for transportation, recreation let alone parking. Read more

Greater clarity required. Does the 45 percent lot coverage overrule by laws which try to impose any maximum aru size requirements. I.e no maximum size or 30 percent of the GFA building can be Aru. Etc.

As a Landscape Architect, I have major concerns with the "by rights" ability to cover 45% of lot area as the increase in hard surfaces and roofs gives rainwater nowhere to go except into overwhemed STM systems. Read more

Please do not make it easier for developers to destroy natural areas. Instead, mandate additional units are built in a way that maximizes space but minimizes loss of greenspace and wetlands.
