It's very difficult for me to understand why our spring water needs to be sold at all, let alone at a absolutely ridiculously low price, for resale back to us at thousands of times the price we sold it. A dream come true for the water bottlers. Throw their lobby out the door. They've had enough. Do it "for the people", not the profiteers. How did we ever survive without bottled water? I realise they have created some jobs, who wouldn't for the profits involved. But I don't think that justifies the price they pay. And they are a foreign company.
I appreciate the need for a cost-benefit analysis and imagine it is not all that easy. Don't forget the plastic trash aspect and the cost to collect and dispose of it: I imagine that comes out the public purse.
Then there's the environmental cost of recycling it. and trucking it around.
Water is life. Without it we die.
