Additional Comments as I missed this part of the bill.
As far as Ontario Place goes, the Premier avoided public consultation on major changes before on Environmental and Conservation issues and continue to avoid public consultation with Bill 5. Despite the public weighing in and not wanting an expensive spa which would not be for the majority of Ontarians, the premier wants to plough ahead. Now the premier wants to delete or revoke Part 2 of the Environmental Bill of Rights where Ontario Place redevelopment or any enterprise or activity that furthers the Project. Again we have a Ministry or the government not leading by a good example fulfilling their responsibilities when it comes to the Environmental Bill of Rights from 1993. We should be adding more items, not taking them away as time progresses with climate change. The Ministry did also not provide educational programs for the public about their environmental rights as required by the EBR Act. One has to wonder if there is a reason and are they neglecting to educate us on the complete impactions of what is being proposed with bill 5. It is not up to the Auditor General of Ontario to make sure that the government is following through with their commitments and not overstepping their role. Planning undemocratic procedures in any part of their responsibilities makes one want clearer plans with detail in one of their doings. They are losing respect and overriding the law. They need a magnifying lens on all they do, especially passing legislation.
