We object to any further extention of the water taking permit for the following reasons
1) Well interference (Slit) which is explained as poor well construction. Five area residents filed
complaints to the proponent and the MOECC all the wells are of different construction all
experience interference at the same time. When their is no activity at the gravel extraction site
the. Residents wells run clear and Slit free.
2) The well in question is registered as a domestic well with a six inch casing when in fact the
casing is actually eight inches and should be registered as a commercial or Industrial well.This
was explained by the MOECC representive as a mistake by the well driller. The well driller in
question has 30 years experience and knows the differance from a six inch casing to an eight inch
casing.
3) There are other residential wells in the area that are experiencing interference when brought to
the attention of the local MOECC Representive there is no investigation or follow up.
4) The land in question falls under First Nations Treaties.
5) This is the recharge area for the Aliston Aquifer the purest water on the planet and should be
protected for future generations
There is a lot of issues surrounding this aggregate operation and some questionable anomalies in
regards to licenses and how they were required. This is a rural residential area and has over
twenty homes which have and will continue to have adverse effects and negative impacts from this
aggregate operation. We look forward to a positive response
