My comment is regarding the proposed changes to the setback of bait piles from dwellings, trails, right of ways and recreational trails. It is my view that the current restrictions were originally put in place for a reason and any changes will obviously have a negative impact on not only wildlife but the safety of people who are out hiking and enjoying all of the natural areas that Ontario has to offer. Pandering to hunters and outfitters is a disgrace, there are a great deal more people who enjoy the outdoors than these "sport" hunters and the government is putting these people at risk not to mention all the other wildlife that will be attracted to these bait piles. Not only are you putting walkers at risk but you are also putting drivers at risk as moving the bait piles closer to roadways increases the probability of vehicle accidents with large animals; does this make any sense? Vehicle insurance rates are very high as it is and this has the potential to make things much worse. Please do not allow this to happen.
