I object in the strongest possible terms to Bill 108 on the grounds that discussion of the local impacts at the municipality level has not been given the same opportunity for input as the building industry. This is very undemocratic in my view. I live in a historical area in Newmarket and even under the current legislation we are inundated with monster homes and unsympathetic building projects in our neighbourhood - my fear is that Bill 108 will open the flood gates and remove the already scarce checks and balances to sustainable development in our province.
I will be making my voice heard to Christine Elliott our local MPP.
