The south shore of Prince Edward County is an important area for bird migration and Monarch Butterfly migration. It is culturally significant for indigenous peoples as well as being the last undisturbed shoreline of Lake Ontario.
It is home to many species at risk and hosts a very high level if biodiversity. The people of Prince Edward County have enjoyed this area for many years. It provides a beautiful place to see birds and other wildlife and be outdoors.
This shoreline must be protected, and I support the proposal to create a conservation reserve.
