This bill is a key example of the provincial government overreaching. Municipal and regional governments are designed to deal with local issues such as land use planning and growth. Allowing the minister to override municipal, regional and provincial policy in order to meet their own agenda is ludicrous. It does not taking into consideration local government decisions. Municipal and regional officials were voted in by the community to specifically deal with local issues, not the provincial government.
