I just learned of the proposal to allow issuing of licenses for new dog train and trial areas. I understand that this was something that was set to be phased out as far back as 1997.
This is a cruel and inhumane practice, and completely unnecessary. If approved, this takes us many steps backwards. It's an archaic activity.
For all that we know and have learned about the importance of wildlife and living harmoniously with them, to appreciate their place in the world, to allow them to live in peace and with safety, just as we hope to live, why has this proposal even been put forward? We condemn people for treating animals poorly and yet here we are, with proposals such as this.
This is unacceptable.
