We are writing to you with our concern for the preservation and health of the Oro Moraine, the source of much of the water in Oro-Medonte including our own well.

With the Ford Government's push to build fast we are not only getting much development on our precious moraine and it's recharge areas but now this application by Sarjeant!

This request falls into category 3 - water taking that is anticipated to have the highest potential of causing unacceptable environmental impacts.
— The amount of water they want to remove is akin to a small lake per year!! For 10 years !!
This also has the potential to contaminate the groundwater (drinking water) and affect the health of watersheds (namely the Lake Simcoe watershed), including wetlands, and farmlands.

There are already many demands on the moraine including but not limited to a water bottling company, subdivisions, new housing, Horseshoe Resort, condos and more proposed, 2 ski hills, golf courses and a brewery. As a finite resource the attitude of profits today and no regard for the future cannot go on!
Today we saw a spring fed pond in the Copeland forest ( a recharge area) that for 30 years that we have witnessed has been a substantial duckweed pond and is now a mud puddle. One of many indications of our water table already being stressed.
It is a real possibility that one day in the not so distant future we will discover that there will not be enough potable water to go around. What will happen then? How will we live and what will our properties be worth?

Therefore we ask in the strongest voice possible that the Sarjeant's application be denied.
