An environmental assessment is absolutely necessary. Dresden is less than 1km from this proposed location and this will put all residents at risk. The Ministry itself states that a landfill within 3.5 kilometres from a town can cause adverse effects. The area proposed was only used for fly ash from an incinerator and an environmental assessment has never been done. If a 50 year old permit is allowed to be used, the zoning attached to that permit and what was allowed on the should stay the same as well, unless the municipality decides to change it.
