Permitting decisions should always be left up to those with technical expertise, and not politically driven mandates to allow development at all costs. Planning decisions should be made with a long vision for environmental protection, not a 4-year political term. The impacts of these decisions are irreversible, and with the obvious and dire impacts of climate change, I don't understand why this government is prioritizing urban sprawl, and the profits of development proponents. Think of the future generations that will be impacted, long after this government is gone. Please do not proceed with this proposed regulation.
