This deeply reprehensible and shameful miscarriage of the public trust is criminally irresponsible and appeals only to the basest and shortest sight. The latest IPCC report issued this week provides a fitting backdrop to legislation that moves Ontario in the exact opposite direction to the real changes demanded by the entire community of experts in this field. Your leadership in this cowardly act is a misstep of gross inhumanity and venal self interest. What fantastic misfortune that we are governed by those whose outright refusal to adopt evidence based decision making is as much a badge of honor as it is a hallmark of their character. This government has the great honor to be counted among other despotic, childish and fraudulent leaders who have been so consistent in their lack of empathy and care for this planet and every living thing that lives upon it. Instead we the people are governed by those who seek to debase and reduce the land upon which we live and the air that we breath to mere commodities to be auctioned off in a grand project of extreme wealth accumulation to a few elite individuals whose close ties to this government are obvious to all who care to look. I am certain that our government will not pause from the business of granting relentless permissions for extraction, emission and production of harm to our environment to listen to our comments. It is my sincere and honest wish that our comments ignored again and again by those in power instead provide fuel for masses of people to stand up and fight back against a party that wants to run this province with impunity. Perhaps I will be able to enjoy a day in the near future when our federal government will deliver an epic smackdown to provincial governments that refuse to participate in carbon emission reductions going forward. Indeed, while we wait for that great day, I will spend some time hoping that some of the smog, flooding, fires and high winds we experience will taint the air inside queens park to remind our leaders that the reality of severe climate cannot be waved away as fake news indefinitely.
