I have review the proposed baitfish policy and wondered how you determined
where the boundary lines should be for each zone.
I don't mind having to produce a receipt for the baitfish I purchased, however my receipt
is only good for two weeks. I don't throw my minnows away. I have an aerator where I can keep them alive for over a month. In the winter time I have know problem keeping minnows for more than two weeks. I would be in violation and could be charged under this proposed policy. I also don't agree with putting a limit on how much baitfish I can buy. If I want to purchase 15 or 20 dozen minnows why would you care. I know the baitfish dealer wouldn't mind.
Another concern I have with this policy is the elimination of bait fish blocks in Provincial Parks. I know It has nothing over harvesting. Also these block were allocated before it became a
Park. You want them phased out in five years. The government allocated these blocks to the baitfisherman years ago. These people make a living harvesting these block and today these blocks are worth a lot of money. If you have to phase them out please do the decent thing and buy them out at current market value. Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this proposal.
