Windmills provide clean and free energy, are cost efficient to operate and stop us from building new and very expensive gas-powered plants, which are not as environmentally friendly.
To dismantle the White Pines Project at this late stage when it is almost at completion seems a waste of money and resources. Never mind the cost to all taxpayers of Ontario. Think we all remember the cancellation of the gas plant in the Oakville/Mississauga region. Billions of tax dollars wasted!
Clean air and water are important to humanity, in particular to our children and grandchildren. What legacy do we leave behind if we cancel the project and by doing so stating “we don’t care about the environment, future generations or if they have clean air to breathe and clean water to drink!”
Latest reports from the scientific community as well as the UN clearly state change has to happen soon and fast, if we want to reverse the damage done by pollution. So why is Ontario taking a step backwards?
The argument that birds are endangered is just false news. Most birds are killed by cats and by flying into windows of either residences or office buildings; not by windmills.
It is my hope that you and the Ministry of Environment can see the importance of the White Pine Project and will let the work continue and the Mills run!
