The White Pines Wind Project has to be allowed to proceed because the environment has to be a major consideration in any project or undertaking that involves reducing fossil fuel consumption. The cost of any project will likely seem insignificant in the near future if climate change develops further and extreme conditions continue to develop. We cannot continue to burn fossil fuels at some market driven rate regardless of how cost effective they are. Think of the cost of one major forest fire or one major flood or ice storm. And the fact that much has gone in to this White Pines Project already, which would be wasted, and we will be spending even more in the near future to embrace projects like these. We need more wind farms and solar projects and electric cars and this should be the focus of any government. We must do whatever we can to protect the environment or the costs will be unimaginable.
