I am deeply disappointed by the PC government's decision to close the White Pines Wind Project. Ontario needs to do everything in its power to meet its growing energy needs with renewable, sustainable, clean, and affordable technologies. Wind energy meets all of those criteria. Fears of the negative impacts of wind turbines, stoked by questionable science and those with a vested interest in fossil fuels, are overblown. A good government would look at the facts before shutting down such a project rather than bowing to pressure from a few loud-mouthed individuals. Furthermore, the sudden decision to cancel the project this late in the process contradicts the message incessantly repeated by the current PC government that Ontario is "open for business". Please, do right by our children and the previous government's promises and do not close the White Pines Wind Project. Instead, invest in our future and continue building this project and many more like it.
