Ontario place is home to so much wildlife. It is so important to protect what is left of our natural spaces in Ontario. This project is extremely unwise. This project shows that the government Ontario is not prioritizing its future, or the future of any of its inhabitants. The land is here for all of us to enjoy and take care of. It should not be privatized. This is not what Ontario place’s legacy should be made into. Ontario Place has been home to an abundance of biodiversity. I am urging — no, begging — the Ontario government to re-think this plan. Only the ultra wealthy will benefit from this plan, not the average citizen. Please do not destroy our home. Doug Ford says we should “all work together” but has he asked us citizens permission or thoughts before making this decision? Has he consulted with Indigenous caretakers of their ancestral lands? If we really do get a say in all of this, this project should be halted until a better solution can be agreed upon.
