Pumping untreated sewage and storm runoff directly into fresh water should never even be considered in 2025. This practice can increase the potential for algae, as well as E.coli. It can negatively impact aquatic life, and destroy ecosystems.

A sobering fact to consider - 97% Earth is covered in water, however only 2.5% of that is freshwater. Of that, most of it is locked away in ice caps or the atmosphere, leaving only 1% of it accessible to us. If we don't have freshwater, we don't have life. Put another way, if all the water in the world was distilled down to 1L, only 1tsp would be accessible fresh water.

The environment should not be an afterthought in favour of capitalistic dreams. The environment should be the FIRST thought every single time something is proposed.
