Compared to other game bird hunting laws, the proposed hunting season for the double-crested cormorant is far too permissive. I think that it should be more like duck hunting, e.g. a season limited to the fall (after breeding is over), with a daily bag limit of 5 or 6, and a possession limit of around 18. All other game is not permitted to spoil. This should also apply to the cormorant. If people are not willing to eat the game birds, they should not be permitted to hunt them.
