The Ontario government should not be interfering in independent, science-based committees such as the COSSARO. The leadership of the current Ontario government has shown itself to prioritize short-term economic and political benefits. In light of this, independent agencies are more important than ever. The government should not have authority to remove species from the protected list - it’s an outrageous suggestion and an overreach.
