By protecting endangered animals from extinction for short term gains we risk biodiversity. There are many scientific peer reviewed works that show the direct link to a healthy and productive human population and biodiversity. Or the lack their of when opposite. As fiscal conservatives are proposing this change to the act I’m not appealing to your sense of environmental stewardship but economic vitality.
A loss of biodiversity is linked to a loss of species which this act seeks to protect. A loss of biodiversity will make the tax payers poorer in every measure of wealth. This is not a fiscally responsible long term change. It is short sighted and will benefit the few rather than the many.
