I am strongly opposed to removing the environmental assessment requirements for the York1 waste disposal in Chatham-Kent, directly on the borders of the town of Dresden.

As a resident of Dawn Mills, ON (around the corner from the proposed landfill. I am deeply concerned about what a landfill, waste handling and processing facility would do to our quiet, tight-knit community. the truck traffic down our roads will be exceptionally hazardous and disruptive. Health concerns to go along with the landfill are present as well as environmental risks.

Why is the decision of the provincial government all of a sudden changing that this project needs to have an environmental assessment done? I do not believe the excuse of tarriff threats from the US. York1 was supposedly going to export all/majority of the waste products it processed at the Dresden site to the US. So if tariffs threats are the reason to bypass an environmental assessment, what is their business plan now? York1 has been about the worst company to deal with as far as communication and honesty goes.

The proposed site was not meant for these changes from York1. They are dangerous to the environment and dangerous to the community. Find another site.

The ENTIRE community of Dresden and Chatham-Kent has been against this project since DAY 1. The fact that a corporation like York1 can just come in to this community and do whatever they want, no matter what the community thinks about it or is concerned about, makes me sick.

I sincerely hope this project does not go through for the sake of my children's health, my own health, my community and our way of life.
