Good day,
I strongly oppose the proposed Dresden landfill expansion and the Ford government’s attempt to bypass Ontario’s Environmental Assessment process.
How can we trust this company (York1) that has been caught and fined for secretly falsify information to adhere to the environmental laws on this property!? We cannot trust them and they are not ethical.
How does a large company like this " forget" to record these 458 loads of soil? They blame clerical error, that's not an error that was attempting to omit what was being brought in. So next question is why hide it, what were they really bringing in... and to think they want to do this same thing in Dresden!!
York1 was charged with providing false or misleading information.
Description of Offence – The convictions are for including false or misleading information in a document submitted to the ministry.
Date of Offences – During the period beginning on or about February 1, 2022, and ending on or about September 10, 2022.
This project is a direct threat to the health, safety, and economic future of Dresden and all of Chatham-Kent.
The decision to revoke Ontario Regulation 284/24 — which required a full Environmental Assessment — is not just irresponsible, it's dangerous. You are stripping away public safety mechanisms in favour of private waste companies with clear political ties to the current government.
This is the worst possible place to allow this landfill!!!!!!
Rural Ontario towns are not a dumping ground.
We are not disposable.
I demand the full Environmental Assessment be reinstated, and this project halted immediately.
