There is no way that the requirement for an environmental assessment should be waived.

We live on the Sydenham River, downstream from the proposed waste site. We are extremely concerned about the runoff from the site into our local waterways. We fish in the river, boat on the river, and we and our grandchildren swim in the river. Any runoff from the waste facility is going to be detrimental to the environment and the sensitive eco system. The Sydenham River flows into Lake St. Clair, which is part of the Great Lakes. Any runoff into the Sydenham River will end up spoiling the Great Lakes as well.

In addition, the small town of Dresden is not equipped to handle, and should NOT be subjected to, 24/7 truck traffic heading to and from the proposed waste site.

Toronto needs to handle its own trash!! Don't ship it out to communities who don't want someone else's trash in their backyard.

At the very least, an Environmental assessment needs to be conducted in order to ensure there are no detrimental effects on the eco system should the waste facility proceed.
