I am very concerned about the proposed York 1 land fill proposal in Dresden. This landfill material should be kept close to where it is produced. This will save costs of transportation and save taxpayers money having to repair roads that are destroyed by heavy truck traffic. This landfill should not be put in this area as it is to close to Dresden proper and will cause the residents of Dresden hardships in odor, noise from production machines at the site and transportation .This transport disruptions will cause detreating roads and possible disruptions of normal traffic and cause hazards for schools in the area. The people of Dresden will be subject to a decrease of property values due to the landfill because no one wants to live near a landfill. I am concerned that without an environmental assessment what this site has already been subject to in past uses and what contamination is already there will not be cleaned up. This area has environmental sensitive eco systems including Molly's creek and the Sydenham river which has many endangered species. I am concerned that contaminants will leach in the water ways and contaminate the water course. I have fished in the Sydenham river in the past but i would be concerned about eating fish after the waterways are contaminated. I am concerned that my family children and grandchildren will not be able to enjoy this waterway in the future due to contamination if this environmental assessment is not done. premier Ford promised in writing this would be subject to an environmental assessment before he was elected again no that he is he is going to retract this assessment. This is not how the people of Chatham Kent should be treated by our provincial government.
