As someone who spends a lot of time in nature Bill 5 jeopardizes the potential wildlife i would see in Ontario with the endangered species act up for debate. This act isn't only to protect the animals but to protect us. If we keep killing off our ecosystems what will be left for future generations? We need to think logically about the repercussions taking away an act like this could mean for the future.
In my city alone the protected wetlands project has brought in new breeds of ducks and other birds that has boosted the ecosystems surrounding my city. Protected lands benefits us better than making a dollar for the province. I can assure you as much as we would love this province to not carry the debt we have (amongst the canadian debt) we would never want to sell or risk the beautiful lands that this province and country have to offer.
Stop disappointing the community, start proving to Ontario people that theres a way to generate economy AND keep our endangered species and ecosystems alive. Also leave reserves alone. Half the reserves in ontario still struggle with basic needs they dont need more stripped from them.
