I strongly opposed this proposal. Firstly, I do not understand how a potential landfill can be created less than one kilometer from a town limits. Secondly, if this proposed landfill proceeds, how can the government, let alone the mega company, in good conscience proceed, knowing there is a water way within one kilometer, that is home to some species of animals that are only found here, in the whole country of Canada. Thirdly, the impact this landfill have on the traffic flow within in the town, driving past two schools, is ridiculous. Let alone, when tomato season starts, and the local tomato processing plants opens, with tractors pulling filled wagons with tomato, the safety of the children walking to school will be compromised. Lastly, during a news conference, campaigning for re election, is quoted to say (in response to the proposed landfill in Dresden), that if the people of Dresden and Chatham Kent don't want the landfill, then it won't happen, because he ( Doug Ford), listens to the people.
I implore you, listen to the people, and find a new spot for a landfill, that is located away from a town, and that doesn't threaten the habitat of endangered species.
Please consult with the local Indigenous councils to learn the consquences to the land.
