Dresden is not the 'IDEAL' location for a dump. Our small community is no where near any major highways. Dump trucks will be travelling on our country roads for MORE than 30 minutes once they exit the 401 or 402 highways. On small, already broken down highways that have our farm tractors and school buses travelling on daily.
Not to mention the closeness to our town. The potential 'DUMP' property line is less than 850 meters from our community high school. 350 meters from our first town street. The property is literally feet away from the Sydenham River.
No one in their right mind would think that this location is an appropriate location for a dump. I understand we need to create more waste locations, but how about selecting some areas that are not within meters of a community. If you lived in Dresden, especially on the north side of town (keep in mind the town is 2 km from one end to the other) would you not fight as hard as possible to stop this from being built in your backyard?
Please listen to the people of Dresden and surrounding area. We demand a full Environmental study.
