We need to pause immigration until we everyone here has a safe place to call home, and homelessness is solved. We have had historic unacceptable, excessively long waiting lists for attainable, affordable homes, as the majority of Canadians income levels cannot qualify to purchase homes . Many rental units are unhealthy and insufficiently maintained, which needs to stop.
Due to progressive climate change effects, we require strong buildings that can withstand, tornados, hurricanes, floods & quakes with wide roads as escaoe routes to safe zones for our people, pets and wildlife, so we do not waste time, labour and materials to rebuild after disasterous weather events as we see happening elsewhere now.
Smart planning now that protects our wildlife ,endangered species, forests, and farmland will be investments that pay off in the future...increased development should be pursued in less fruitful land zones, not destroying what we need to keep prestige.
Think of the future !The future Immigrant labour may need to be utilized in new areas to establish them and house our current homeless citizens along with the support services they require. We also need smart treatment of all of the waste we produce.
These are long outstanding problems that need wise solutions.
