If the bulk of the construction and demolition waste is generated in the heavily populated areas such as the GTA, Oshawa, or Kitchener-Guelph then why in the world would we truck it 2-3 hours away to Dresden. Imagine the carbon spewing into the air from the estimated 700 trucks per day. Why could this process not be done closer to its source say in an industrial park complex away from peoples homes where truck traffic is the norm. Would that not be a much better alternative?
