The York 1 dump poses a significant threat to the sustainability of the Sydenham River ecosystem. The introduction of unwanted pollutants and toxins from the dump can contaminate the already leading river in phosphorus runoff., harming aquatic life and disrupting the food chain. The runoff from the York 1 dump will result in a decline in fish populations, Snake, Mussels and turtles impacting the species that rely on them for food. The town of Dresden is working hard to protest the landfill thought. To stop further contamination from leaching into the Sydenham ecosystem. This is crucial to the sustainability of the Sydenham should not be overlooked.
