Wholeheartedly disagree with the threat this bill poses to industries such as archaeology. With lesser requirements for permits there will be an active threat to sites that are only discovered due to construction. These sites provide critical information to the descendants of the past inhabitants of the site. Without these discoveries we will loose our history and weaken our ties to our ancestors.
As well this bill would drastically weaken permitting processes and definitions of what harms a species, to redefining what a species habitat is, there are huge implications for the future of Ontario’s wildlife.
Our wildlife is what makes Canada a beautiful and diverse land, we should be honouring the species living here and protecting them, not risking their extinction.
