This is a time where we need more environmental protections, not less. If this is passed, we are sure to see not only these protections but the vital land bulldozed. If you are already someone who is worried about wild animals crossing, or endangered species, or anything like that at all, you should oppose this, because it is just going to make these problems worse. It's like putting a bandaid on top of another bandaid, on top of a gaping wound. You are trading one problem for another.
I don't believe this will help fix the housing crises, either. What we need is regulation to protect renters and low-income housing. This bill is promising to disregard existing processes that are there for a reason. You can find a better solution. Although I doubt that this is in good faith for the average Canadian and more about unchecked development and profit. Because people who are already struggling to make ends meet or find housing are probably not going to immediately benefit from this.
