I am alarmed by this proposal to prioritise the economy and human activity. Humans cannot survive without pollinators and healthy ecosystems. The shifting towards 'voluntary' will likely result in an even more alarming decline in all sorts of species. Big business, time and time again, has demonstrated that profit is their motivator, and that in the absence of methods that ensure their compliance e.g. to regulations, goals such as preserving wildlife and their habitat will fall to the wayside.
Perhaps changes are needed; however, any changes must enhance current protections, not become more lax with them.
It is not an exaggeration when I say the future of human kind is at stake.
