To Whom It May Concern,
I’m sure you’ve received many messages now, expressing opposition to Premier Doug Ford’s Bill 5. And unfortunately, this message is no different.
Bill 5 is a major threat to the environmental integrity of not only our province and our country, but the world. Ontario has the opportunity, right now, to set an example of ecological stewardship for the world now and future generations.
It will be regrettable to pass this proposal as it will certainly negatively impact future life in this province and country. These species and lands have been protected for decades for a reason, and to uproot them for government greed is antithetical to the cause of creating a comfortable and beautiful life for future generations.
It’s unfortunate that the government is choosing to focus on this bill when we have plenty of other issues in this province that need to be prioritized that affect us right now and have not actually been addressed, including affordable housing, rent control, and this is not a real viable solution to those problems. Please let us know how tearing down woods and digging up minerals helps?
You clearly have an agenda, and it’s not to make Ontario great again. It’s to make your pockets fuller and fuller until it explodes into the ether.
I along with hundreds of thousands of Ontario residents URGE you to reconsider this bill and come back with a better option that involves better care for our planet first.
Thank you.
