We acknowledge the importance of removing barriers to delivering major provincial transit projects. Although the Township of Russell does not currently host a provincial transit corridor, we are part of a fast-growing region and anticipate that our long-term planning may intersect with future regional transit expansion. As such, we encourage the Ministry of Transportation to ensure that data requests, coordination frameworks, and consultation processes under the proposed legislative changes are scalable and accessible to smaller municipalities who may become transit stakeholders in the years ahead.
