There is vague language here and could apply to many bylaws that cities rely on to protect health, safety, and environmental wellbeing. This will limit the municipal ability to implement bylaws that relate to construction or demolition of buildings. Ironic when Ford says to "stay in your own lane" sometimes.

Bill 17 will not speed up housing or make it more efficient and it risks undermining efficiency completely and strapping homeowners with higher utility costs for years to come. And it doesn't make life more affordable at all! In fact, it will be more expensive over the years.
