As a volunteer in a community that cares about reducing emissions and ensuring people can best reduce ongoing utility costs where homes are mostly 100 years old, I see how much more difficult it can be to make your home more efficient after it has been built as opposed to having efficiency be a core facet of how the home was built in the first place, I urge the government to ensure green building standards remain in place. This gives the opportunity for new homeowners to ensure they do not have to go through retrofits after the fact and are able to have lower costs ongoing during a time of high costs. Please consider these standards as a very important part of how housing is built.
