I would like to see more, not less, management of "flexible" plastic packaging (like food wrap, pouches and bags). Reducing the recovery target from 25%, agreed upon in 2021, to 5% is putting my future and the future of the children in our province at risk.

Recycling should be extended to schools, multi-unit residential buildings, long-term care and retirement homes. Plastic packaging manufacturers committed to pay for this in 2021, why are they now saying it's not feasible - they have had more than enough time to budget and plan for this change.

I do not want to see burning plastics, aka "energy Recovery" count as the fourth R. This proposed amendment to the Blue Box Regulation (Ontario Regulation 319/21) is unsustainable and will add more pressure to our already overwhelmed planet and push us further into damaging climate change impacts.
