I fully support the issuance of a Ministerial Zoning Order to get the Jamesville project moving

The fact is that when it comes to legal maneuvering CN rail has a lot more financial resources than the taxpayer supported City of Hamilton. There are many. places in Hamilton where houses are right next to rail right of ways dating back to the beginning of the railways. Even on the CN rail line to Toronto used by Go Trains there are major projects right next to the tracks.

I have never heard any public uproar about the noise and disruption of rail lines. I myself live in an older neighbourhood less than 100 meters from the CN tracks and the loudest noise or disruption I ever hear is the dinging of the crossing bell.

This affordable housing project is badly needed. It was fully occupied for fifty years up to the. time it was emptied for redevelopment . I can recall no instance during that time of conflict with CN.
