I do not support altering these Acts. There is no need to use lands that are designated parkland and conservation areas for increased economic development. There are plenty of lands around Wasaga Beach that are already being developed that can support tourist and economic development.
Conservation and park lands, particularly those with waterfront, are places were wild lives create thriving habitats and ensure biodiversity that ensures human wellbeing. The Piping Plover, a species of shorebird who are currently endangered and who are nesting along the shores of the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park, will not survive the turmoil, destruction and noise that development brings.
You are being reckless in your development plans, on the back of a Bill that completely violates Treaty obligations, Indigenous rights to self-determination, wild life habitats and our natural environment. You are pursuing the interests of a select few, and the consequences of these actions will be far reaching.
There are many ways to support growth and community development that does not sprawl. We've taken enough, stop.
